I have a fairly skewed view of things that are cute. For example, you’ll notice that rabbits, hamsters, and guinea pigs didn’t make the list. That’s because, even though these are common pets, I don’t find them particularly cute. (And, in the case of the guinea pig, downright ugly. Sorry, cavy lovers. That’s just how I roll.) Whereas all varieties of weasel are adorable to me, but make other people shudder. (They do war dances!! How is that not awesome???)
Actually, it seems that the stranger the animal, the more adorable I find it. (I had a pink, nearly see-through gecko that lived on my wall once, and it was the cutest little thing. I named it Frank the Mosquito Slayer. But that’s another story for another day…)
Before today, I thought that the animals in the second panel were among the cutest out there, and the ones most likely to make me make ear-piercing squealing noises. But, watching Last Chance to See this evening, I discovered the ultimate in cuteness.
I give you a bucket full of live baby turtles!!!
Gabriel Rotar Says:
Definitely adorable, but my tot pet would be a barn owl of a sparrow hawk ^_^

I did a search on weasel war dances because I’ve never seen it before and I now have to say SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Another Squee-Worthy animal for me… the narwhal… http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z257/americanwildlife/Mammal/Z-freeartlicence-narwhal.jpg The unicorns of the sea!

Ill make sure i take pictures of any Echidna i see. Also ever seen a Bungarra? (giant lizard.. slightly smaller then a Komodo Dragon)
We dont live near a place that would have platypus in it.. but yeah.. ill take a photo if i see one on my travels!
Live in the Australian outback here, you see all kinds of weird and wonderful things
Kgirl Says:
I agree that your list is adorable except for the snake *shudder*
this is my first time commenting on one of your comics and I wanted to tell you I love your art style
dr pepper Says:
You should be watching Lost Land of the Volcano. The explorers found dozens of new species just going up the slope. Inside the crater is a field equal to anything any 18th century expedition ever encountered. That included a moth more colorful than many butterflies, and a tiny parrot that can fit into a pill bottle.
Carly Says:
Oh man. You/the first commenter just reminded me of when I was a kid and read a few books written by some biologists who ran an owl/bird of prey recovery centre. I wanted an owl SO badly. Preferably one of the burrowing kind.
Denaya Says:
ZOMG! I want a tiny pill parrot… then I can be Cap’n Dee of the Dreadship MiniParrot!
PPO Kuro Says:
I’m not a girl, so I won’t go EEEEEk so cute, but I think alligators are cute.
